Most cooling towers get ignored until something goes wrong. New in 2025

Tower Tech expanded its modular line in February 2025, adding closed-circuit models to its open-circuit offerings. The new TTCC-FC evaporative fluid cooler and TTCC-HC hybrid fluid cooler bring the performance advantages of FRP composite construction to closed-loop applications for the first time in the Tower Tech line. This is directly relevant to data center and industrial applications where process fluid contamination is a primary design concern.

Why FRP changes the maintenance conversation

The majority of cooling towers in commercial service are built from galvanized steel or aluminum. Both materials corrode. Corrosion is the primary reason most cooling towers fail before the end of what should be their service life. A tower that was specified for 20 years of service life ends up requiring significant repair or replacement at 12 because the basin, the structure, or the internal components have deteriorated faster than the original design anticipated.

Tower Tech builds entirely from Fiber Reinforced Polymer, a composite material that does not rust, does not corrode, and does not degrade in the wet, chemically active environment inside a cooling tower the way metal does. The internal components including fill media and, in the closed-circuit TTCC line, the heat exchanger coils themselves are composite. The result is a tower rated for a service life of over 30 years with a 15-year limited warranty to back it up. What the modular design means in practice

Tower Tech towers are factory-preassembled and delivered to site as a complete unit. Installation takes less than 30 minutes. That is not a marketing claim about a simplified process. It is a description of what happens when a cooling tower arrives on site as a finished product rather than as a collection of components that need to be assembled in the field.

The modular design also changes how maintenance works over the life of the tower. Tower Tech towers use up to twelve smaller bottom-mounted fans rather than a single large top-mounted fan. If one fan faults or needs service, the tower keeps running on the remaining fans. For applications where cooling downtime has real operational consequences, that redundancy is built into the base design rather than specified as an add-on.

Uptime during maintenance
Multiple bottom-mounted fans allow the tower to remain operational when individual fans fault or require service. No single point of failure in the fan system.

FireStrong and FM Approval

Water conservation
