Hurst – Overview
Hurst Boiler and Welding Company has been manufacturing industrial steam and hot water boilers in Coolidge, Georgia since 1967. What started as a family-owned welding and fabrication shop has grown into one of the most recognized boiler manufacturers in North America, operating out of a 350,000 square foot facility on a 48-acre campus with over 275 employees at full production capacity.
Hurst manufactures a broad range of firetube and watertube boilers running on gas, oil, biomass, and hybrid fuel configurations. Their product line spans scotch marine boilers, firebox boilers, vertical boilers, low NOx boilers, and skid-packaged systems, along with a complete suite of boiler room auxiliaries including feedwater systems, stack economizers, integrated controls, and blowdown separators. That depth of offering means a Hurst-equipped boiler room can be sourced, specified, and supported through a single manufacturer relationship.
What has kept Hurst competitive for nearly six decades is a straightforward philosophy: quality equipment at reasonable prices, backed by people who stand behind their work. The company remains family-owned and operated, with the second generation actively leading the business. That continuity shows up in the consistency of their product and the accessibility of their support, qualities that matter especially in applications where a boiler going down is not an inconvenience but an operational crisis.

WHY MERION PUMP AND HURST BOILER
In healthcare settings, a boiler is not background infrastructure. It is the system that sterilizes surgical equipment, maintains building heat across patient floors, and supplies domestic hot water around the clock. When it goes down, the consequences are immediate and serious. That reality shapes every recommendation Merion makes when a hospital or healthcare facility comes to us with a boiler project.
Hurst earned a place on our line card because their equipment is built to perform in exactly those conditions. Their scotch marine firetube boilers are a familiar and trusted design that engineers in the healthcare space have been specifying for decades. The product is well understood, well supported, and available in configurations that cover both steam and hot water applications, which matters when a single facility may need both depending on the system.
The relationship between Merion and Hurst is still developing, and we are deliberate about that. We bring Hurst into projects where the application fits and where we can stand behind the recommendation with our own service capability. Healthcare customers do not have patience for equipment that underdelivers or support that disappears after the sale. Neither do we.
What we can offer a healthcare facility specifying a Hurst boiler through Merion is the combination of a manufacturer with a proven commercial track record and a local team that knows the equipment, knows the application, and will be on the phone or on site when it matters.

FEATURED PRODUCTS

Hurst Series 300 Scotch Marine Steam Boiler
For healthcare facilities where steam is essential for sterilization, humidification, and process applications, the Series 300 delivers reliable firetube performance in a proven three-pass scotch marine design. Available from 15 to 800 horsepower with pressures to 300 PSI, it covers the range of what most commercial and healthcare applications demand. Engineers have been specifying this design for decades because it works, it is well understood, and parts and service support are broadly available.

Hurst LPW Series Hot Water Boiler
When the application calls for hot water rather than steam, the LPW Series brings the same scotch marine reliability in a configuration optimized for hydronic heating systems. Well suited for commercial buildings and healthcare facilities running hot water distribution across large footprints where consistent supply temperature and system pressure are non-negotiable.

Hurst Skid Packaged Boiler System
For projects where installation time, footprint, and mechanical room coordination are all factors, the Hurst skid-packaged system arrives as a pre-engineered, factory-assembled unit ready for connection. Steam and hot water configurations are both available. The result is a faster startup, fewer field variables, and a boiler room that goes together the way it was designed.
